The Secret Garden

Originally created in 1979 by Rosemary Verey to celebrate the marriage of Lord and Lady Ashcombe, the Secret Garden was redesigned in 1998 after Lady Ashcombe commissioned Charles Chessire to create a garden to celebrate the marriage of her son, Henry, to Lili Maltese.

This walled garden with raised beds is constantly evolving throughout the year. In the Spring it is a veritable sea of tulips – over 2,500 of them!

Amongst the secrets of this garden are:

• Tulips
• Heliotropes
• Penstemons
• Russion sage
