As I write this blog, Sudeley is buzzing with decorators, plumbers and electricians, preparing the castle for the new season.
On 17th March, the doors to Sudeley will open once again, however this year is going to be different. A new route through the castle and gardens and never-before-seen artefacts and even fresh signage await you.
After 40 years I have enjoyed the opportunity to again throw myself into the revamp of Sudeley, mapping out the new visitor itinerary through the castle and gardens, planning details down to the wallpaper, carpeting and furnishing in each of the newly opened private rooms.
These include our own family sitting area The Morning Room, the Castle Library, the Victorian Sewing Room and the Tudor Document Room – as well as a number of private bedroom suites, still used today.
Being able to open up my home further to you all has given me an enormous sense of satisfaction. I have been passionate about Sudeley since I first came here almost 50 years ago and want to give you the chance to share with me the same fascination and love I have of the castle. It has been the scene of so many memories for not only myself and my family, but past owners; our Victorian forebears, and 600 years of varying nobility and Royalty who have left their indelible imprint on our intriguing story.
I sincerely hope you enjoy Sudeley Castle & Gardens, and everything it has to offer.
