St. Mary’s Church was restored between 1855 and its rededication in 1863 by the Dent family, after being sat in ruins as a result of the Civil War.
Queen Katherine Parr lies entombed in the church, the only English queen to be buried on private land.
During the open season monthly services take place from 3:30pm to which all visitors are welcome on the following dates:
The Church will be closed for private functions on selected dates – please check at the Visitor Centre for any restrictions during your visit. Please note that Katherine Parr’s tomb will not be accessible during these times.
